David Cooke – President
As President, David is responsible for U.S. equipment purchasing, bank financing with Ex-Im Bank guarantees, and the related logistics for Chinese customers. This equipment is destined for the Chinese healthcare, agriculture, firefighting, and industrial sectors. David has four decades of experience as a commercial banker. He managed the International Trade Finance division of the 20th largest bank in the U.S.A, where his group specialized in exported equipment financing, with support from Ex-Im bank.
Jessie Yang – Senior Export Coordinator/Assistant Manager
As Senior Export Coordinator, Jessie is responsible for commercial contract negotiations with the suppliers. She serves as liaison to Ex-Im Bank, commercial banks, U.S. suppliers and EKPAC staff in China and Hong Kong to apply for loans and to execute the approved loan projects. She also assists the President to manage business operations. Prior to EKPAC, she worked for Chindex International Inc. for 6 years, executing U.S. Ex-Im and German KFW loan projects for medical and lab equipment. She also has experience in medical products sourcing, medical device regulatory compliance, and international logistics. Jessie received her M.A. in International Trade and Investment Policy from the George Washington University. She speaks Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese.
Kristoffer Booker – Senior Contracts Administrator
As Senior Contracts Administrator, Kris is responsible for a number of Ekpac’s infrastructure development projects underway in China. He is engaged in hospital and industrial equipment projects and played a key role in large agricultural machinery transaction. Kris negotiates commercial contracts with U.S. suppliers, serves as a liaison to Chinese clients, U.S. manufacturers, U.S. commercial lending banks, the U.S. Export-Import Bank, and EKPAC offices in Hong Kong and the PRC. Kris also manages Ekpac China Inc.’s working capital line of credit, utilizing it to make related supplier payments, and is responsible for financial reporting to the bank. Kris has several years of experience working in greater China and is proficient in Mandarin Chinese.
Judy Zakreski – Executive Vice President of Global Business Development
As Vice President of Global Business Development, Judy is responsible for strategic growth initiatives at Ekpac, including expanding the company’s medical products distribution business in China. Judy has also been instrumental in implementing best practices within Ekpac’s core business to ensure its continued strong growth. Judy is the founder and CEO of China Trade Strategies (CTS), where she advises Western healthcare companies struggling in or considering entry into the China market, as well as Chinese healthcare companies intent on accessing the US market. She has over 20 years of experience in trade finance and US-China export, including serving for 10 years as Vice President of U.S. Operations at Chindex International, Inc. and Chindex Medical Limited. Judy holds a BA in International Studies from American University and an MA in International Commerce and Policy from George Mason University. She speaks Mandarin Chinese.
Emily Cheung – Associate, Business Development and Contract Administration
As Associate in Business Development and Contract Administration, Emily is responsible for promoting Ekpac’s business growth, supporting strategic development initiatives, and conducting comprehensive market research and analysis. Emily is engaged in hospital projects under the Framework Agreement, and liaisons between Ekpac Staff in China and Hong Kong to conduct business operations. She also serves as Ekpac’s Social Media Marketer. Emily previously lived in Taiwan as a Fulbright ETA Grantee (2015-2016) and graduated with dual degrees in Psychology and Chinese language from University of Maryland, College Park. She is proficient in Mandarin Chinese.
